I met these beautiful dancers in a beach hotel bathroom. They were dressing for their flamenco show, applying red lipstick and shimmying into colorful tiered dresses. For a second, I flashed back to my own childhood recitals, the excitement, nerves and glamour of ruffled dresses and castanets. As I watched them perform, I marveled at the fiery precision of their hips and heels, in complete command. I was grateful for the chance encounter beforehand, a reminder of the human impulse to practice, show up, and exude.
